Dr John H Tilden
John Henry Tilden (1851–1940) was an American physician and natural hygiene proponent known for criticizing pharmaceutics and developing the toxemia theory of disease, which posits that illness arises from the accumulation of body toxins due to enervation or deficiency of vital force.[1][2] Initially trained in eclectic medicine, he practiced surgery successfully in Illinois and Kansas before shifting to alternative health practices, founding the Tilden School for Teaching Health in 1916 as a sanitarium promoting preventive care over drugs.[1][3] His ideas synthesized earlier hygienic theories and influenced naturopathy, with key works like 'Toxaemia Explained' published in 1926.[1]
