Downs Matthews

Downs Matthews, born Harold Downs Matthews on March 24, 1925, in Waco, Texas, was the son of sociologist Harold Jackson Matthews and teacher Grace Downs Matthews. He married Mary Byers Riley in 1948, though they later divorced. Matthews passed away in 2014.
