Douglas Robinson
Douglas Robinson (born September 30, 1954) is an American academic scholar, translator, and fiction-writer best known for his work in translation studies, with extensive publications on human communication, social interaction, and various theoretical fields including literary, linguistic, gender, and rhetorical theory. He has translated numerous Finnish novels, plays, and monographs into English and has published multiple novels, including works first published in Finnish translation. Robinson has been a professor of English and translation studies for over four decades, currently serving as Chair Professor at Hong Kong Baptist University.
