Douglas Allen 'Doug' Collins is an American Republican politician, lawyer, pastor, and military chaplain born in Gainesville, Georgia. He served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2007 to 2013, represented Georgia's 9th congressional district in the U.S. House from 2013 to 2021, ran unsuccessfully for U.S. Senate in 2020, and has been the U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs since February 2025.[1][2][5]
