Donald Smith

Donald Smith is a Scottish storyteller, novelist, playwright, and performance poet born in Glasgow to Irish parents, who has worked in theatre and literature since the 1970s. He served as Director of the Scottish Storytelling Centre from 2003 to 2014, was a founding Director of the National Theatre of Scotland, and is the Artistic Director of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival. He has written non-fiction books on Scottish culture and published novels on Scottish history, including Between Ourselves and Flora McIvor.
