Donald M. Monro

Donald Monro (1727–1802) was a Scottish medical writer and physician, the second surviving son of Alexander Monro primus, professor of anatomy at Edinburgh University. Educated at Edinburgh under his father, he graduated M.D. in 1753 with a dissertation on dropsy, served as army physician and at St. George's Hospital, and was elected Fellow of the Royal Society in 1766 and the College of Physicians in 1771. He was esteemed for his varied attainments and professional skill, publishing several medical works before dying in London on 9 June 1802.[1][2]
