Donald M. Kagan

Donald Kagan (1932–2021) was a Lithuanian-born American historian and classicist at Yale University, where he served as Sterling Professor of Classics and History. He was widely regarded as one of the nation's greatest scholars of ancient Greece, best known for his monumental four-volume history of the Peloponnesian War and his comparative work On the Origins of War and the Preservation of Peace.
