Donald L. Shaw

Donald Leslie Shaw (1930-2017) was a prominent British literary critic and professor specializing in Latin American and Spanish literature. He held positions at universities including Edinburgh and the University of Virginia, where he served as the Brown-Forman Professor of Latin American Literature from 1986 until his retirement. Shaw authored influential works such as 'A Literary History of Spain: The Nineteenth Century' and 'The Generation of 1898 in Spain,' and was renowned for his scholarship on Jorge Luis Borges.
