Diana Dretske

Diana L. Dretske is a curator and Lake County historian at the Bess Bower Dunn Museum of Lake County, Illinois, who has explored regional history for more than thirty years. She is best known for her collective biography 'The Bonds of War: A Story of Immigrants and Esprit de Corps in Company C, 96th Illinois Volunteer Infantry' (2021), published by Southern Illinois University Press, which examines the lives of five British and Irish immigrants who served in the American Civil War. The book was a finalist for the 2021 Army Historical Foundation Distinguished Writing Awards.
