Diana Darke

Diana Darke is a British author, Arabist, and Middle East cultural expert specializing in Syria and Eastern Turkey.[1][2] She graduated from Wadham College, Oxford, in 1977 with degrees in German, Philosophy, and Arabic, and has spent over 30 years working in the region for government and commercial sectors, including time in Syria, Egypt, and with a Bedouin tribe.[1][2][3] Darke has authored books such as 'My House in Damascus' (2016), 'The Merchant of Syria' (2018), 'Eastern Turkey' (2014), 'The Ottomans' (2022), and 'Stealing from the Saracens' (2020).[2][3]
