Dermot Hurley

Dermot O'Hurley was a 16th-century Irish Roman Catholic archbishop of Cashel and one of the most celebrated Irish Catholic martyrs. Educated in Ireland and on the continent, he taught at Louvain and Reims before being appointed archbishop in 1581; he was later executed for treason under Elizabeth I and beatified in 1992.
