Derek Jacobi
Sir Derek George Jacobi, CBE (born October 22, 1938) is an acclaimed English actor and stage director renowned for his Shakespearean roles, founding membership in the Royal National Theatre, and mentorship under Laurence Olivier.[1][2][3] He gained international fame for portraying Emperor Claudius in the BBC series 'I, Claudius' (1976), earning a BAFTA Award, and has starred in numerous films including 'Henry V' (1989), 'Hamlet' (1996), and 'The King's Speech' (2010).[2][4][5] Knighted in 1994 for services to theatre, Jacobi has received a Tony Award, two Laurence Olivier Awards, and two Primetime Emmy Awards over a career spanning more than six decades.[2][6]
