Derek E. G. Briggs

Derek E. G. Briggs is a renowned Irish paleontologist and taphonomist at Yale University, celebrated for his groundbreaking research on exceptionally preserved fossils from the Cambrian Burgess Shale to dinosaurs. He holds the William Beinecke Professorship of Earth and Planetary Sciences and serves as Curator of the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, where he leads studies on fossil decay, mineralization, and evolutionary significance.
