Deon Meyer

Deon Meyer is a South African thriller novelist writing primarily in Afrikaans, with his works translated into 28 languages and published in over 40 countries. A former journalist, advertising copywriter, and brand strategist, he has published fifteen novels and two short story collections, alongside screenplays for television series and films. His novels often feature flawed but empathetic cops and reflect social issues in post-apartheid South Africa; he was knighted by France as Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in 2021.
