Dennis Tedlock

Dennis Tedlock (1939–2016) was an American ethnopoeticist, linguist, translator, poet, and anthropologist known for his influential work on Mayan literature and oral traditions. He is especially remembered for his acclaimed translation of the Popol Vuh and for co-founding ethnopoetics with Jerome Rothenberg.
