David L. Heymann (Author, Editor),
David L. Heymann (born 1946) is an American infectious disease epidemiologist and public health expert based in London. He spent 22 years at the World Health Organization (WHO), rising to Executive Director of the Communicable Diseases Cluster, where he led the global response to SARS, and later served as Assistant Director for Health Security and Representative for Polio Eradication. Currently, he is Professor of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and a Distinguished Fellow at Chatham House.
