David Howard
David Howard is a New Zealand poet born in Christchurch in 1959 and co-founding editor of takahē magazine, known for his gnarled, metaphysical poetry that fosters tenderness. He has published numerous collections including The Incomplete Poems (2011) and Rāwaho: The Completed Poems (2022), with poems featured in Best New Zealand Poems, and has received awards such as the NZSA Mid-Career Writers Award (2009) and Robert Burns Fellowship (2013). He also edited A Place To Go On From: The Collected Poems of Iain Lonie (2015), named an outstanding book of the year.[2][7]
