David Black

David Black is an American award-winning journalist, biographer, novelist, and screenwriter whose investigative work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, New York, Harper's, and Rolling Stone, earning him the National Magazine Award for his 1985 article 'The Plague Years.' He has authored twelve books, including novels like Like Father, Minds, and The Extinction Event, and nonfiction such as The King of Fifth Avenue and Murder at the Met. Black has also written and produced for acclaimed TV shows including Hill Street Blues, Miami Vice, CSI: Miami, and Law & Order, co-writing the series' first episode in 1990.
