David Axelrod

David M. Axelrod is an American political consultant, strategist, and author best known as the chief strategist for Barack Obama's 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns and as Senior Advisor to President Obama from 2009 to 2011. A former political reporter and columnist for the Chicago Tribune, he founded political consulting firms and later directed the University of Chicago's Institute of Politics until 2023. He authored the New York Times bestselling memoir 'Believer: My Forty Years in Politics' and serves as a CNN Senior Political Commentator and host of 'The Axe Files' podcast.
