Daniel Mathews

Daniel Mathews is an author specializing in the natural history of western North America, with books including Natural History of the Pacific Northwest Mountains, Rocky Mountain Natural History, and Cascade–Olympic Natural History. He has extensive backpacking experience, worked as a fire lookout, and lived for years in a forest cabin without electricity in Portland, Oregon, where he currently resides.[1]
