Daniel Kane

Daniel Kane is a professor of American literature in the Department of English at Uppsala University whose research focuses on modern and contemporary American poetry and New York City avant-garde and popular culture after 1960. He was born in New York City and was raised in several places, including Manila, Mexico City, London, Tenafly, and New York City. He is the author of books including *All Poets Welcome: The Lower East Side Poetry Scene in the 1960s* and *What Is Poetry: Conversations with the American Avant-Garde*.[1][2]
