Dana Stabenow

Dana Stabenow is an American author born on March 27, 1952, in Anchorage, Alaska, and raised on a 75-foot fish tender in the Gulf of Alaska, which influenced her writing about the region's rugged life and cultures. She gained acclaim with her debut mystery novel 'A Cold Day for Murder' (1992), winner of the Edgar Award, launching her popular Kate Shugak series featuring an Indigenous Aleut detective.
