D. R. Watson
Dr. John H. Watson is a fictional character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, serving as Sherlock Holmes's loyal friend, associate, and chronicler in the detective stories. Born in 1852, he was an army surgeon wounded during the Second Afghan War, after which he returned to England, met Holmes, and began narrating their adventures. Watson is depicted as a reliable everyman, medical professional, and narrator of 56 out of 60 Sherlock Holmes stories.[1][2][7]
