D. E. Edmunds
Dave Edmunds, born David William Edmunds, is a Welsh singer, songwriter, guitarist, and record producer renowned for his revival of 1950s rock and roll, rockabilly, and pub rock in the 1970s and 1980s. He first gained fame with the psychedelic blues trio Love Sculpture in 1968, scoring a top 5 hit with 'Sabre Dance,' before launching a solo career with the massive 1970 Christmas hit 'I Hear You Knocking,' which sold over three million copies. A prolific producer and multi-instrumentalist, he worked with Rockpile alongside Nick Lowe, produced albums for artists like the Stray Cats, Everly Brothers, and Fabulous Thunderbirds, and released solo works including the 1972 album Rockpile.
