D. D. Hamilton
James Hamilton, D.D. (1814–1867), was an eminent Presbyterian minister and author born in Strathblane, Scotland, known for his eloquent preaching in Edinburgh and London and his influential works on experimental and practical religion, including 'Life in Earnest' and 'Mount of Olives'. He served as pastor of the National Scotch Church in Regent's Square, London, and was celebrated as one of the most powerful ministers of the metropolis during his time.
