Cyril Charles Harris

Cyril Kitchener Harris was the Chief Rabbi of South Africa from 1987 to 2004, where he worked to bridge distrust between the Jewish community and impoverished black South Africans during the apartheid era. He was widely noted for helping move much of the Jewish community away from passive acceptance of apartheid toward opposition to it.
