Colson Whitehead
Colson Whitehead is an American novelist born in 1969 and raised in Manhattan. After graduating from Harvard College, he worked as a journalist and television critic for The Village Voice before publishing his debut novel The Intuitionist in 1999. He is the first writer to win the Pulitzer Prize for consecutive books, winning for The Underground Railroad (2016) and The Nickel Boys (2019), and is known for innovative novels that blend fantastical elements with explorations of social themes including racism and American history.
