Colm Toibin
Colm Tóibín, born in 1955 in Enniscorthy, County Wexford, Ireland, is an acclaimed Irish novelist, short story writer, essayist, playwright, poet, journalist, and critic.[1][3][4] He began writing at age 12 and has authored numerous novels including Brooklyn, The Master, and The Testament of Mary, with works shortlisted for the Booker Prize three times and winning awards like the Costa Novel Award.[1][2][4][5] Currently the Irene and Sidney B. Silverman Professor of the Humanities at Columbia University, he continues to be one of the most widely read writers in contemporary Irish literature.[3][5][9]
