Colleen McCullough
Colleen McCullough (1937–2015) was an Australian author best known for her sweeping romance The Thorn Birds (1977) and the historical Masters of Rome series. Trained as a neurophysiologist, she worked in Sydney and at Yale before becoming a full-time writer, producing 25 novels across romance, historical fiction, and mystery genres. She lived on Norfolk Island from the late 1970s until her death.
