Clift Andrus

Clift Andrus was a United States Army Major General born on October 12, 1890, at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, to Colonel Edwin Proctor Andrus and Marie Josephine Birdwell Andrus. He attended Cornell University before joining the Army in 1912, serving as an instructor at the Field Artillery School during World War I, commanding artillery in World War II campaigns in North Africa, Sicily, and Normandy, and later holding key posts including command of Fort Sill before retiring in 1952.[1][2][3][5]
