Christian Ratsch

Christian Rätsch (1957–2022) was a renowned German anthropologist, ethnologist, and author specializing in ethnopharmacology, the ritual use of psychoactive plants, and shamanism. He conducted extensive field research among indigenous communities in the Americas and authored numerous books, including the standard work 'Encyclopedia of Psychoactive Plants'. His work bridged the gap between traditional shamanic practices and modern scientific understanding of psychoactive substances.
