Chizuko Ueno

Chizuko Ueno is a Japanese sociologist, feminist, and public intellectual known for her influential work on gender equality, family sociology, women’s history, capitalism, and nationalism in Japan. She helped establish gender studies as a recognized academic field in Japan and is widely regarded as one of the country’s most prominent feminist voices.
