Chege Githiora

Chege John Githiora is a Kenyan linguist and Professor Emeritus of Linguistics, African Languages and Literatures at SOAS University of London, currently serving as a Full Professor at Kenyatta University. He specializes in Sociolinguistics with expertise in Swahili, Spanish, and Gĩkũyũ, and is the author of books and journal articles published in English, Swahili, and Spanish, including his notable work 'Sheng: Rise of a Kenyan Swahili Vernacular' (2018).
