Charlotte Bronte
Charlotte Brontë (1816–1855) was an English novelist and poet, best known for her groundbreaking novel *Jane Eyre* (1847), which blended moral realism with Gothic elements and featured a strong, independent female protagonist.[3][5] Born in Thornton, Yorkshire, she endured early family tragedies, including the deaths of her mother and two sisters, and worked as a teacher and governess before achieving literary success alongside her sisters Emily and Anne.[2][6] She married Arthur Bell Nicholls in 1854 but died the following year from illness.[1][3]
