Charles S. Parker
Charles S. Parker was a pioneering Black botanist and mycologist who made significant contributions to the study of plants and fungi, particularly through his systematic work on the fungal genus Hypholoma. He traveled extensively across the United States collecting over 2,000 plant specimens, including several new species, and served as head of the Department of Botany at Howard University from 1932 to 1948.
