Charles Kingsley
Charles Kingsley (1819–1875) was an English Anglican clergyman, novelist, poet, and social reformer associated with Christian socialism and the muscular Christianity movement. Best known for his children's classic 'The Water-Babies' (1863), he also wrote social-problem novels like 'Yeast' (1851) and 'Alton Locke' (1850), advocating for working-class reforms. He served as rector of Eversley for much of his life and held professorships at Cambridge and the University of London.
