Charles De Lint
Charles de Lint, born in the Netherlands on December 22, 1951, is a pioneering Canadian author of urban fantasy and contemporary fantasy, best known for his Newford series and works blending the real world with mythic elements. His family moved to Canada when he was an infant, and after a nomadic childhood, he settled near Ottawa, Ontario, where he has lived and written full-time since 1983, producing over 80 books for adults, young adults, and children. A trailblazer in the genre alongside authors like Terri Windling, he has won awards including the World Fantasy Award, multiple Auroras, and the Sunburst Award.
