Carlo Collodi
Carlo Collodi, born Carlo Lorenzini on November 24, 1826 in Florence, Italy, was an Italian journalist and author best known for creating the beloved children's character Pinocchio in his novel 'The Adventures of Pinocchio'. He wrote satirical newspapers and theatrical comedies while advocating for Italian unification, and his literary career spanned essays, children's education, and fairy tales. Collodi died on October 26, 1890, in his native city of Florence.
