Carl-Henrik Heldin

Carl-Henrik Heldin is a Swedish molecular biologist and medical researcher specializing in signal transduction mechanisms of growth factors like PDGF and TGF-beta, contributing significantly to understanding cancer progression.[1][5] Born in 1952, he earned his PhD in Medical and Physiological Chemistry from Uppsala University in 1980, served as director of the Uppsala branch of Ludwig Cancer Research from 1986 to 2017, and has been professor of molecular cell biology there since 1992.[1][2][4] He chairs the Nobel Foundation board since 2013 and is vice-president of the European Research Council since 2011.[1]
