Carl Barks

Carl Barks (1901–2000) was an American cartoonist, author, and painter best known for his Disney comic books, including the first Donald Duck stories and the creation of Scrooge McDuck.[2][1] Born on a farm near Merrill, Oregon, he worked various jobs like logger and printer before joining Walt Disney Productions in 1935 as a storyboard artist and writer, later transitioning to comic books in 1942 after health issues.[1][4] He produced over 500 stories anonymously until late in his career, earning nicknames like 'The Good Duck Artist' and induction into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1987.[2][7]
