cardinal John Henry Newman

John Henry Newman was a 19th-century English theologian, writer, and churchman who was a leading figure in the Oxford Movement before converting from Anglicanism to Roman Catholicism in 1845. He later became a Catholic priest, founded the English Oratory, was created a cardinal in 1879, and is remembered for influential works on faith, doctrine, and education.
