Cailean Hunter, James

James Hunter (born 22 May 1948) is a Scottish historian specializing in the Highlands and Islands, serving as Emeritus Professor of History at the University of the Highlands and Islands. A Highlander by birth and upbringing in North Argyll, he was educated at Duror Primary School, Oban High School, and the Universities of Aberdeen and Edinburgh, and has authored numerous books on Highland history and its global diaspora.[2][3][4]
