C. Margaret Hall

C. Margaret Hall is a sociologist and retired professor who spent over 50 years at Georgetown University, including 47 as a full-time faculty member in the Department of Sociology, retiring in spring after being one of the first women granted tenure there. She served as department chair twice and directed the women’s studies program, with research focused on social intelligence and the social construction of identity and behavior. She is the author of numerous books, including the popular 'Women and Identity: Value choices in a changing world.'
