Van Name, born March 14, 1955, in Florida, USA, is an American science fiction author best known for his 'Jon and Lobo' series, including the notable work One Jump Ahead, for which he received the Compton Crook Award. He is also a technology consultant and CEO of Principled Technologies, Inc., in North Carolina's Research Triangle area, with over thirty years in the high-tech industry and more than a thousand published articles on computer technology.[1][2][6]
