Stephen Hawking and Roger Penrose are renowned theoretical physicists and cosmologists. Their collaborative work on black holes, the nature of spacetime, and the origins of the universe is exemplified in their book 'The Nature of Space and Time' (1993). Hawking (1942-2018) was a professor at Cambridge University, while Penrose (b. 1931) was a professor at Oxford University; Penrose was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2020, and Hawking received the Wolf Prize among numerous other honors.
