Roy Knocke holds an M.A. in Philosophy and Cultural Studies from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and has been a scientific staff member at Lepsiushaus Potsdam since 2011 and a lecturer at Universität Potsdam since 2013.[1] His research and teaching focus on comparative genocide and violence studies, with emphasis on philosophical and sociological aspects, particularly the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.[1] He co-authored a publication with Werner Treß in 2015 and is a member of the editorial board for the series 'Gewaltpolitik und Menschenrechte' at Duncker & Humblot.[1]
