Brian Jones
Lewis Brian Hopkin Jones (1942–1969) was an English musician and founder of the Rolling Stones, initially serving as slide guitarist and multi-instrumentalist who shaped the band's early blues sound.[1] He named the group in 1962 and recruited Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, but was later marginalized as they took over songwriting and direction.[1][4] Dismissed in June 1969, he drowned in his swimming pool at age 27 the following month.[1]
