Brian Froud
Brian Froud is an English fantasy illustrator and conceptual designer, born in Winchester in 1947 and raised in Kent, who studied at Maidstone College of Art, graduating in 1971.[1][2][3] He gained international acclaim for his 1978 book *Faeries* co-created with Alan Lee and as the conceptual designer for Jim Henson's films *The Dark Crystal* (1982) and *Labyrinth* (1986).[1][3][5] Froud's work, inspired by folklore, myth, and the landscapes of Dartmoor, has made him a pre-eminent figure in faerie art, influencing artists, writers, and filmmakers worldwide.[2][3][5]
