Brian Azzarello

Brian Azzarello is an American comic book writer and screenwriter, born on August 11, 1962, in Cleveland, Ohio, who rose to prominence with the hardboiled crime series 100 Bullets, published by DC Comics' Vertigo imprint, earning Harvey and Eisner Awards in collaboration with artist Eduardo Risso. He has written acclaimed DC titles including Batman: Broken City, Joker, Luthor, Wonder Woman, and Dark Knight III: The Master Race with Frank Miller, and lives in Chicago with his wife, artist Jill Thompson. Azzarello began his career as a line editor for Comico Comics before becoming a celebrated author of crime, superhero, and Western comics.
