Brent Hartinger

Brent Hartinger is an American author, playwright, and screenwriter best known for his young adult novels about gay teenagers, including the classic Geography Club (2003), which was adapted into a feature film. Born in Washington state, he grew up in Tacoma, co-founded one of the country's first LGBTQ youth support groups in 1990, and co-founded AfterElton.com, sold to MTV/Viacom in 2006. He has published fifteen novels across various genres and taught creative writing at Vermont College of Fine Arts.
